It has been a long time since I have connected through my blog. So here I am. Alive and almost well. Recovering from the end of the school year. The second part of the school year is always the roughest, and this year was especially rough for me. As some of you may remember, I have been working on my Education Specialist certification for the last year now. Working on my certification this year means I was not able to coach the girls’ basketball team or attend the track and field events for my school this year. I believe not being able to attend track meets had the biggest effect on me. Coaching during the week but not being able to see the benefits of the coaching paid off. Even more, the special camaraderie a team develops when they are together on a meet day as opposed to when they are off doing their individual practices. Those are the special moments I missed out on this year. I think it all came full circle for me when I saw the Women’s 4×400 Relay race at the NCAA Championships. It is those great moments I miss. If you have not seen it, here is the link:
Even more awesome was this moment from the Minnesota baseball playoffs. The pitcher has just struck out his childhood friend for his team to advance to state championship game. Again a great display of friendship and sportsmanship:
Well, time to sit back and see if my professor posts any more grades in time for me to make last edits for grades are due.
